A research home for the questions that don't fit anywhere else.
SEEN AI Systems is a community-based applied research institution. We study how people experience, trust, and benefit from responsible AI — and return that evidence to the communities, scholars, and funders who shape what comes next.
Mission
To conduct rigorous, community-based applied research on the everyday use of AI — with the people most affected as co-authors of the question — and to return the evidence to communities, scholars, and institutions in forms they can use.
Position
We sit between the academy and the community: independent enough to be trusted with hard questions, close enough to the ground to know which questions are worth asking. We take four community partnerships a year — no more — so that depth, not scale, is the discipline of the work.

Jimmara Scott
Applied researcher. Institutional architect.
Jimmara founded SEEN AI Systems to build a research home for questions that emerge where communities and AI meet. Her work is grounded in the conviction that the people closest to a problem already hold the most useful part of the evidence — and that the job of an institution is to make that evidence legible, defensible, and hard to ignore.
"We are not a lab, we are not a think tank, and we are not a consultancy. We are a research institution that treats community expertise as evidence, and treats evidence as a public good."
